Carolina Theatre and other history lessons

Your chances to learn more about the old Carolina Theatre and other parts of Charlotte's history are coming up soon.

Click here for details on Historic Charlotte's programs, which begin Tuesday with a look inside the defunct theater building still standing at North Tryon and Sixth streets.

And click here to see my TV report on the building with news partner WCNC.

What other aspects of Charlotte's history are you curious to know more about? Post here or e-mail me.

Liegh is it true that GOLD MINES used to be right underneath the city of Charlotte? Also would like to know about the KU KLUX KLANS history with Charlotte and in the early days what influence did they have on shaping the city?

Liegh I had read in a Newspaper article last summer about Charlotte being a SLAVE holding tank; In others words SLAVEs would be stationed somewhere in Charlotte and some were brought here for incidents like murder or raping other Slaves; Is this a true story about the holding tank issue?

I would like to see a MADAME TUSDES wax museum come here to Charlotte; Washington D.C. just got one and I think they are great; They originate out of Europe and they are so life like; I would like to see a twist where you walk into a dark room and the lights come on real slow from no light to slow brightness to give a spooky affect; I have heard at night they have movd on their own just because wax falls after a while because of temperature.
